PDF Manager Reference

This document is a reference for the PDF Manager screen of the ADP Car Market Hub plugin (Car Market Hub → PDF Manager). It explains the branding, layout, field visibility, QR code, legal notes and preview controls for the print-optimised vehicle datasheet.

When to use this document

Read this when you want to design the printable PDF datasheet that visitors download from a single vehicle page, change the dealer logo or contact lines, decide which vehicle fields appear on the PDF, enable a QR code, add a legal notice or generate a preview before publishing.

Overview

The PDF Manager controls how the PDF datasheet looks and what it contains. It does not toggle the public download link on its own — the PDF Datasheet button on single vehicle pages is enabled in Design And Styles → PDF Datasheet. When that toggle is off, visitors will not see the download link even if PDF Manager is fully configured.

The screen has the following structure:

  1. Page header with a notice if the public PDF button is disabled.
  2. PDF Branding + PDF Layout (side-by-side row).
  3. Visible Vehicle Fields.
  4. QR Code.
  5. Legal Notes.
  6. Preview & Test.

Requirements or prerequisites

  • Permission to manage the plugin.
  • A logo image uploaded to the WordPress Media Library (optional, recommended).
  • At least one published vehicle to use the preview.
  • The frontend PDF Datasheet button enabled in Design And Styles if you want visitors to download the PDF.

Step by step instructions

Configure dealer branding

  1. Open Car Market Hub → PDF Manager.
  2. In PDF Branding, click Select logo and pick an image from the Media Library. Use Remove logo to clear it.
  3. Toggle Show company name, Show address, Show phone number, Show email address and Show website as needed; each toggle controls whether that line appears in the PDF header.
  4. Use the color pickers to set Primary color (price and accent elements) and Accent color (headings and dividers).
  5. Click Save PDF Manager settings.

Choose paper format and content blocks

  1. In PDF Layout, choose Paper formatA4 or Letter.
  2. Set Number of vehicle images between 1 and 5 (1 large main image plus up to 4 thumbnails).
  3. Toggle Show image gallery, Show price box and Show contact box to include or exclude those large blocks.
  4. Save.

Pick which vehicle fields appear

  1. Open the Visible Vehicle Fields card.
  2. Toggle each field to include it in the PDF. Disabled fields are hidden even if the vehicle has data for them.
  3. Save.

Enable the QR code

  1. In the QR Code card, toggle Show QR code on.
  2. Save. The QR code in the PDF always points to the native WordPress vehicle page; it never links to AutoScout24.
  1. In Legal Notes, type the disclaimer, imprint or energy-labelling notice you want appended to every datasheet.
  2. Save.

Preview the PDF

  1. Open the Preview & Test card.
  2. Pick a published vehicle from the selector.
  3. Open the preview — it uses the same output as the public Download PDF button.

Visible Vehicle Fields

This card lists every vehicle field that the PDF datasheet can render. Each toggle decides whether that field is included for every vehicle. The exact list is generated from the plugin's allowed field set and may grow as new fields are supported.

Operational notes

  • All cards belong to the same form, so any Save PDF Manager settings button persists every field on the page.
  • The PDF Datasheet button on the frontend is controlled by Design & Styles. PDF Manager only configures the document itself.
  • The QR code is intentionally limited to the native WordPress vehicle page so that scans always land on your site.
  • The Number of vehicle images is capped at 5 (1 main + up to 4 thumbnails). Vehicles with fewer images use whatever is available.
  • The preview renders the same output as the public download. If a preview looks wrong, the public PDF will look the same.
  • Color pickers, file paths and the legal notice are stored as plain options. No customer or visitor data is added to the PDF beyond what is already on the public vehicle page.

Troubleshooting

  • The PDF download link is missing on the frontend. Enable the PDF Datasheet button in Design & Styles. The header notice on this screen flags the same condition.
  • The preview opens but the document is blank. Ensure the selected vehicle is published and has at least the price/title fields. Disable some content blocks to isolate which one fails.
  • The dealer logo does not appear. Confirm the Dealer logo field still references a valid Media Library item. If you deleted the source image, click Select logo and pick a new one.
  • Changing the paper format does not update the layout. Save the form and re-open the preview. Cached PDFs may persist briefly; re-trigger the download.
  • A field is enabled in Visible Vehicle Fields but does not appear in the PDF. That vehicle may not have data for the field, or the field may also be hidden in the Mapping screen.
  • Legal notice text is cut off. The notice is appended to the datasheet; if it overflows the page, shorten it or split into multiple lines.
